Pamplin, Virginia, puts on a steampunk faire called Steam City along Main Street on Saturday, November 14.
Duel at Dusk VIII is Sunday, November 15, at the Team Touché Fencing Center in San Diego, and its teapot race bans zeppelins, drones and hovercraft: ground-based radio-controlled vehicle only, teapot optional to function. I respect a rulebook that saw my first three entries coming. Nerf pistol duelists must pass a shooting-gallery test first, and there’s a picnic basket battle royale. Somebody had to ban the zeppelins by name, and I’d like to hear that story.
